A Twist, on Twister

So, I have to share this awesome idea my Mom saw on Pinterest (which, by the way I have an account and think the concept of the site is awesome.. but after a day or two of pinning, I realized I don’t really have time for this, and it took a back burner because I’d rather spend the time blogging…)  Anyways, back to the cool idea.

Twister.

Remember the game we all played with the giant colored dots on a big plastic sheet that caused everyone to giggle when you get stuck in weird positions?  Yeah, well we brought that game back, in style may I add!

My parents were hosting my Sister’s college graduation party (yay, Sis!) and put out a few activities for guests to play: Badminton, basketball, and lawn twister!  Oh yeah, you gotta see how my Dad & Sis made it…

First, they laid out a grid…

Then, they used a template (a circle cut out of a cardboard box) to spray paint the colored circles.

and the outline…

and ta-da! Lawn Twister!

They made it a few hours before the party so the paint could dry… and my Sis made the spinner boards.  Then, it was time to enjoy…

So, if you’re adventurous enough, or your guests at an upcoming party this summer are, try this out!

Do you have any creative DIY yard games to share?  Did I play?  Yes… I did.  In a group of 4, I was second to last…then my short legs just couldn’t hold out any longer!  Plus my Grandma distracted me and yelled ‘Hey Meghan, Nice Purple Underwear!’…thanks, Gram :)

    • It was fun! I forgot why it was such a hit as kids… and it’s probably more challenging as an adult because the bigger the bodies, the bigger the pretzels everyone twists into!

    • I love browsing it every so often, but I barely get a spare minute to check my blog, so I don’t have the time I want to really check everything out on Pinterest… but my Mom usually shares the good ones that we should try out.
