The Writing’s on the Wall

Being a designer at heart, I’ve been eying these for months now.  I saw them on a commercial and I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to get them for Avery…

Yep, they’re CRAYOLA CRAYONS!  Can you imagine the reaction my husband gave me when I said I wanted them?  He warmed up to the idea…

Thoughts?  Will these end up all over my walls?  Are they REALLY washable?

  1. I have been a nanny, a nursery nurse and a mum for 25 years and not a single child in my care has ever wirtten on a wall. you will be ok just make sure its supervised play and have a place to put them on a high shelf at other times. they look cute.

  2. We have not had any writings on the wall. If you’re worried just let him draw in his high chair until he understands that drawing is done on paper, that is what we did. We have some washable marker pens for Elisabeth and they do wash out and off her high chair etc. so you should be ok :-)

  3. Even if they don’t wash off …. magic erasers take care if everything! Hannah was coloring with a permanent marker on paper-the marker leaked through to the counter, and after a few swipes with the magic eraser it was gone.

  4. I have some lower quality “washables” that don’t seem to want to budge. But I figure so long as I keep the stuff contained to the “kid table” and only allow him to play with supervision, what’s the harm? I’m sure we will have a more egregious “art display” on a wall, door, or floor when he’s older but that’s what paint, magic erasers, and time outs are for. ;) I try to just relax and watch them enjoy. Ha! Have so much FUN!

      • SHOULD. . .Mac’s figured out how to climb onto his kid’s table and my Mother warned me the wall behind it is no longer safe from crayons. . .ARGH!! Avery looks as if he’s completely morphed into a toddler in a matter of a few short days. So cute! (and good luck ha!)

      • I’m not surprised – Mac seems like quite the monkey and climbs on everything! Avery gets a woot out of climbing on the dishwasher door when I open it to load/unload dishes. I tell him he is helping me… maybe some day he actually will?

And yes – it seems like I blinked and Avery went from a baby in my arms to a toddler at my side… awe time flies!

  5. You may get some “writings in the wall”, but hey, who knows he may be the next Miguel Angelo and you don’t want to get in the way of that. Have fun!!! :)
