High Five for Friday

Happy Friday! Today I’m joining my girl at Flavors of My Life and linking up with From My Grey Desk . Every week I read their positive High Five for Friday posts and think… I should do that. So, here’s my five things for this week…

1. Grammy and Grampy are here! Although they were just here last weekend for Avery’s 1st Birthday party, they’re back…with their dogs (who Avery loves!). We have a productive weekend planned of house projects: patching window trims, putting up curtains, getting a new rug, finding a home for all over Avery’s new toys, refurbishing radiator covers, … and more!

2. Comfy Heels! Amongst the celebration for Avery last weekend, my Mom gave me my birthday gift. Well, first Avery (Grammy) gave me a dirt devil – perfect for vacuuming up his post-meal messes. And my Mommy got me 3 new pairs of shoes! I was in heaven.. add them to the free pair I got from a coworker and the ones hubby got me.. that’s 5 pairs of shoes! Yippy! And the ones my Mom got me are ‘comfort’ heels… I’m wearing the black ones today…sooooo comfy!

3. Sophia is Coming! I am so excited. Vinay’s cousin Sophia is coming from California to visit. She’ll be with us Monday – Wednesday next week. So guess who’s playing hookey from work and daycare? Me & Avery! We have special plans to have Sophia take Avery’s 1-year photos. If you remember back, she took some AMAZING shots of Avery when we took our first trip to Cali.

4. Office Birthdays Ever since I threw my office mate a big surprise for her 50th birthday at work, birthdays have become kinda a big deal. We celebrated 3 birthdays in the office – just the past couple weeks. We go crazy – cake, balloons, flowers, and ICE CREAM! They really make the workday that much better and it really makes me appreciate how close-knit our department is.

5. Sleep! Now, I don’t want to jinx anything but Avery has slept thru the night THREE nights in a row. We started a new bedtime routine Monday night and Avery has quickly caught on. And oh man is it nice.

Great FIVES! But ummmmm…. Being that I have a shoe fetish… I’m giving you a high-five with a high-kick for the fabulous heels. Which of course can all be worn to celebrate the other four FIVES! (laughing). Love this idea, Meghan!

haha, thanks Stacey! I’m not much into shopping and clothes since I’d rather spend the money on bills and Avery… but since these shoes landed in my lap, you don’t see me complaining!

  I hear you! I never spend money on me… which makes getting a gift that’s ALL FOR YOU so much fun. Love that sleeping pic of Avery. Fingers crossed that lasts. He’s a doll.

Oh, it sounds like you had a fantastic 5 for Friday. We should do a TEN for Monday because Mondays are so hated on. LOL I love your new heels, but you won’t love them as much as the new dirt devil from Avery. WORKS WONDERS. And now Lili wants to clean up all the time. Even better.

So exciting that you get to play hooky next week with family! I’m so glad you have family coming often right now and I’m sure it’ll be that way since holidays are creeping in.

PS – SO happy that Avery is sleeping through the night. I hope it continues. Lili’s been sick still so her sleep schedule is off — she is coughing often and that wakes her up. It breaks my heart to see her having a rough time sleeping.

Hey Rachel – I hope Lili is feeling better! Avery was up coughing the other night… broke down and took him into bed with me because I knew he needed cuddling. I’m back from my little sabatical of family time… will post soon and update everyone on Avery’s TWO WEEKS of sleeping thru the night. Yay!

So happy you are joining me for the High Five for Friday posts! So fun to have a blogger friend there. It’s nice to concentrate on all the GREAT things that happen right???

And I love the shoes! The nude heels are fab. I know I get the most use out of my nude heels!

Haha, thanks! I’ll try to do the high five fridays more… and my girl Rachel suggested making something up for Mondays because they are such a drag… so you might inspire me to start that… if I ever get around to it!
