We’re newlyweds, new homeowners, and new parents! We thought, what better way to share our trials, tribulations, and triumphs within our new home than document it in a blog.
We’re both New England natives… but from completely different worlds. Vinay is from the Big Apple, while Meghan grew up in rural Vermont (a town with more cows than people). We both went to college in Boston, started our careers here…Vinay in BioTech and Meghan in Mechanical Construction. We met playing trivia with a mutual friend, and a couple years later, tied the knot, and bought our first house!
Our house is 13 miles south of Boston. It’s a whopping 1,032 square feet! (That’s huge compared to our 766 sq ft apartment we had while we were dating). The house was built in 1928. It’s a ranch style, with a HUGE attic that holds potential for us to build up later on. We have a nice sized-yard that Vinay is enjoying mowing, a one car garage, 2 bedrooms with one bath, and a full basement! It took us over 6 months of house-hunting weekends with our amazing Realtor Jeanne, until we found this perfect house. Perfect may be an overstatement for the condition we bought it in… but with a little TLC, we’re going to make it home!
Now, we’re no ‘flippers’ or experts on home renovation.. or even home ownership! And with the new family addition, we’re making big changes (and sometimes big goof-ups). With Meghan’s eye for design, Vinay’s technical knowledge and the help of family and friends, we hope to make this house, our home. We’re excited to share the journey, and look forward to any comments, suggestions, and help along the way!
Our new addition, Avery, has recently become the focus of our time and energy, so expect to see many updates on him too!
